We have been harvesting and eating shrimp for thousands of years.   The southeastern United States has many communities that were built around the shrimping industry and a wide variety of immigrants and "locals" have contributed to the culture that is "shrimping".  IT IS A THREATENED CULTURE.  The love of this crustacean has influenced music, advertising, cuisine and spurred commerce.  Artisans have interpreted the shrimp in a variety of ways from paintings and sculpture to ceramics and stained glass.  We will be sharing with you all that we can find that will hopefully educate, entertain and enlighten!
